A-Y-P Timeline Book

 

HistoryLink plans to have the A-Y-P timeline book ready for distribution in mid May 2009. The coffee table sized book by Alan Stein and Paula Becker will feature more than 400 images and maps. It will document the people and personalities who planned and built the fair and their vision for the future of the region. It will also explore the A-Y-P legacy.

The book will also include:

A timeline history of the fair.

A highly illustrated narrative of the fair day-by-day‹from June 1 to October 16, 1909.

A building by building architectural tour.

Illustrated sidebars on special subjects and people.

The book will be made widely available to the public at A-Y-P centennial events, via HistoryLink and in Seattle retailers where possible.

    The Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Centennial Celebration is a project of the City of Seattle's Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs and 4Culture, King County's Cultural Services Agency, in collaboration with dozens of organizations and individuals around the region.

    If you are or your organization is working on projects for the 2009 Centennial Celebration, HistoryLink and 4Culture have put together a community organizing website (aype.org) where you can collaborate, share information, request help and learn about the progress of A-Y-P-related projects.
